Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization

REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS REGARDING THE PROPOSED DRAFT FISCAL YEAR 2019 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM (UPWP)

The Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization (ESMPO) has prepared the Draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) for review by the MPO Policy Board in July 2018.

The UPWP is the planning and administrative budget of the MPO and details the federally funded transportation planning activities to be undertaken in the Eastern Shore Urbanized Area in FY 2019 by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and the Eastern Shore MPO.

The Draft FY 2019 UPWP will be available for review at the locations listed below from June 1^st  through  July 2^nd. The document may also be viewed on the ESMPO website, www.easternshorempo.org.

The MPO would like input from the public and welcomes written comments during this time. Comment forms will be available at each of the following locations:

PUBLIC INPUT OPPORTUNITY: TRANSPORTATION SURVEY

The Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization (ESMPO) is soliciting input from the public through a Public Transit Survey for the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA). The MPA includes Daphne, Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Loxley, Silverhill and Robertsdale.

The survey will be open from May 8, 2018 – July 11, 2018. To complete the survey, visit the Eastern Shore MPO website (easternshorempo.org) or Facebook page (Eastern Shore MPO). Drop boxes and paper surveys are available at the following locations:

• Fairhope: Baldwin County Satellite Courthouse, Public Library, Chamber of Commerce, BRATS Hub

REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS 

 DRAFT FY 2018 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PLAN (PPP)

 

The Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization has prepared the Draft FY 2018 Public Participation Plan (PPP) for review by the ESMPO Policy Board in April 2018.

The PPP is a cooperative effort between the U.S. Department of transportation (USDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), ESMPO member governments and citizens living within the ESMPO planning area. A primary purpose of the ESMPO is to encourage community involvement during the transportation planning process.  The PPP outlines the manner in which the public is reached, encouraging the maximum amount of participation possible.  The PPP outlines the processes for involving the public in transportation planning under federal and state regulations and guidelines for preparing the primary planning documents; Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP), Public Participation Plan (PPP), and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.  The PPP sets measurable goals and performance evaluations.

The Draft PPP will be available for review at the locations listed below from February 7^th through March 26^th.  The MPO welcomes comments during the public comment period and at any MPO meeting. The document may also be viewed on the ESMPO website, www.easternshorempo.org.

There will be two public input meetings held in Fairhope and in Loxley soliciting input and comments regarding the Draft PPP. The first Public Meeting will be held at the Fairhope Satellite Courthouse, Commission Conference Room, on February 20^th between 5-6 p.m.  The second Public Meeting will be held at Loxley Town Hall on March 8^th between 5-6 p.m.
